The Management Collaborative for Religious (MCR) is hiring a full-time Bookkeeper to help support the financial and accounting activities of four Catholic women’s religious congregations. This position will report to the Finance Director and will perform a variety of accounting support functions including accounts payable, payroll, and account reconciliations. The Bookkeeper position will work mainly out of the offices of the Benedictine Sisters of Pittsburgh, located north of Pittsburgh in Bakerstown (3526 Bakerstown Road, Bakerstown, PA 15007). There will also be occasional travel to the other Pittsburgh locations served by MCR, however, much of work can be handled remotely from Bakerstown.
Core Functions and Responsibilities
• Manage G/L transactions and prepare the monthly financials for review
• Verify timecards and process payroll
• Vendor payments and invoice filing
• Credit card receipt coding and tracking
• Account reconciliations as needed
• Prepare deposits and misc receipts, record cash activity
• Assist with supplying information for the annual review or audit process
• Health insurance management, particularly Medicare and Medicaid
Qualifications and Experiences
• Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2 to 5 years of accounting experience
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a particular attention to detail in order to enter data accurately
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong time management skills
• Experience and proficiency with QuickBooks Online preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word
• Comfortable working in a religious environment and committed to supporting the mission and upholding the values of the Catholic women’s religious communities served by MCR
Salary and Benefits
• Salary Range: $45,000 – $55,000

The Director of Operations for the Central Deanery is a key leadership and administrative role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the financial, operational, human resources, and administrative functions across multiple parishes within the deanery. This position acts as a central resource and expert, providing professional management and support to the Dean, pastors and parish staff, ensuring efficient stewardship of resources, compliance with diocesan policies, and sustainable operations that further the mission of the Church. The Director of Operations will work collaboratively with the Dean, Pastors, deanery council, parish councils, finance councils, and staff to implement best practices and support the pastoral priorities of each parish.
This is a newly created position, integral to the foundational development of the Central Deanery. Until June 30, 2026, the Director will play a pivotal role in the envisioning process, contributing expertise to strategic planning and the formation of the deanery's operational framework. Beginning July 1, 2026, the focus will shift to the crucial implementation phase, as the Director leads the execution of the collaboratively developed vision for enhanced efficiency and mission effectiveness.
