September 30, 2025It was special day in the City of Pittsburgh! Councilwoman Theresa Kail Smith sponsored proclamations from the City Council declaring today, September 30, 2025, as Bishop Emeritus David A. Zubik and Bishop Mark A. Eckman Day!The proclamations took place in the City Council Chambers of the City-County Building in Downtown Pittsburgh. They honored Bishop Zubik's faithful service to the Catholic Church and the Diocese of Pittsburgh for more than five decades, and Bishop Eckman's devotion to serving of God and the people of the Diocese of Pittsburgh through his decades of ministry.Congratulations to both of our bishops!
