St. Therese School is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and student-focused Long-Term Substitute Teacher for our Third Grade classroom. The successful candidate will provide a nurturing and engaging learning environment while delivering high-quality instruction aligned with Pennsylvania academic standards and the mission of Catholic education. Candidates holding a Reading Specialist certification are strongly preferred, as literacy development and strong reading instruction are key components of student success at the elementary level. Essential Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging daily instruction in all core subject areas, including Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Religion.
Create and maintain a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and success.
Teach and model Catholic values and principles while supporting the mission and traditions of the school.
Utilize age-appropriate technology to enhance learning, engagement, collaboration, and digital literacy.
Assess student progress through formal and informal methods and maintain accurate academic records.
Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, administration, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to support school initiatives and student success.
Maintain classroom routines, procedures, and expectations that encourage responsibility, respect, and self-discipline.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as requested.
Qualifications
Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification:
Elementary Education K–4 (Required)
Reading Specialist Certification (Preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
