The Diocese of Pittsburgh is committed to transparency and has published its independently audited financial report every year since 1969. These documents will help you to understand how the Diocese of Pittsburgh uses your gifts to serve Jesus.
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
I am grateful for the opportunity to share a positive update with you as we continue our life together as the Church of Pittsburgh. The Diocese of Pittsburgh continues to operate with fiscal stability due in large part to your generosity and care. This is something we do not take lightly, and it reflects the trust you place in us as stewards of the resources you share.
Our parishes and schools are where faith is lived and passed on every day. Supporting them well and planning responsibly for the future matters deeply to me. Alongside a dedicated leadership team, I remain committed to thoughtful financial planning that allows our parishes, schools, and ministries to remain strong, sustainable, and well-supported in the years ahead.
For more than fifty years, the Diocese of Pittsburgh has made its independently audited financial reports publicly available. We do this because transparency matters. You deserve to know how your gifts are used to support the mission Jesus has entrusted to His Church.
Much of this work is made possible through the Annual Parish Appeal, which supports ministries and services that no parish could sustain on its own. These shared resources help us serve with faith and charity, supporting campus ministry for college students, formation for future priests and deacons, and essential services that assist our parishes and schools each day.
Please know how thankful I am for your faith and your prayers. Be assured that you and your families are in mine as well. Together, trusting in God’s providence, we continue to serve with hope, confident that He is at work among us.
As we serve together in Faith and Charity, I am
Your brother in Christ,
Most Reverend Mark A. Eckman
Bishop of Pittsburgh
