Janitor Position Full or Part Time, St. Michael the Archangel Parish, (Mt. Lebanon & Scott Twp)
St. Michael the Archangel Parish is looking to fulfill a Full-Time or Part-Time janitor position.
This position will work with the Parish Facilities manager to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of buildings and facilities, ensuring a safe and presentable environment. 
 
Janitor duties and responsibilities
Janitorial duties involve cleaning and sanitizing various areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and washing surfaces. They are also responsible for cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, and restocking supplies. Additional tasks can include minor maintenance and repairs such as replacing light bulbs or fixing leaks, maintaining cleaning equipment, and reporting larger issues to management. Depending on the role, they may operate cleaning equipment, assist with event setup, secure buildings, and perform outdoor maintenance like removing snow or basic grounds keeping. 
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Key skills include knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures, physical ability for tasks like lifting and standing, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Reliability, punctuality, and basic maintenance skills are also advantageous. Familiarity with handling cleaning chemicals safely and good communication skills are important. Must possess the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects up to 50 pounds as necessary.
Working conditions
Janitors work both indoors and outdoors. Schedules can vary and may include non-traditional hours. The work is physically demanding, involving standing, walking, bending, and lifting. They may be exposed to chemicals and require adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment.
