​Fall formation events support parish leaders

The diocesan formation office has hosted several events this fall to provide ongoing training and education to parish leaders.
 
At the Annual CA Day of Business and Formation, 60 parish catechetical leaders from across the diocese gathered to grow in their own formation and stay up to date on the latest news and practices from around the country. 
 
This all-day event started with a blessing service led by Fr. Tom Kunz, followed by sessions on intergenerational catechesis, parish safety, catechetical certification, information on upcoming events, and sharing among leaders. 
 
National expert on Family Catechesis, Paulette Chapman, led a keynote and workshop, and local leader Dr. Gregory Popcak offered resources and vision for family formation. 
 
At the Catechist Evening of Formation, volunteer parish catechists participated in a keynote-workshop mashup led by Paulette Chapman. The evening offered a “common language” and common vision for parish catechists. 
 
After both events, participants reported feeling energized and inspired for leading catechesis in new ways.
