We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact. This individual will serve as the chief executive officer of the organization, providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, financial stewardship, fundraising leadership, and community engagement while ensuring alignment with the mission and values of Mary's Place. Position Summary The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of Mary's Place. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee organizational operations, financial sustainability, staff leadership, program excellence, fundraising efforts, and external partnerships. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who combines nonprofit management expertise with a deep commitment to serving vulnerable women and families. Essential Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Governance
Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic priorities and long-term organizational goals.
Ensure organizational activities align with the mission, vision, and Catholic Christian values of Mary's Place.
Provide regular reports, recommendations, and performance metrics to support effective governance and decision-making.
Lead organizational planning efforts and identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and community impact.
Support board development, engagement, and committee effectiveness.
Organizational & Program Management
Provide leadership and oversight of all organizational operations and programs.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, licensing requirements, and organizational policies.
Develop and maintain systems that promote operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff while fostering a positive and mission-focused workplace culture.
Ensure programs effectively meet the needs of residents and support successful outcomes.
Financial Management & Resource Stewardship
Develop and manage the annual operating budget in partnership with the Board of Directors.
Ensure sound financial practices, internal controls, and fiscal accountability.
Monitor organizational performance and financial health through regular reporting and analysis.
Oversee contracts, vendor relationships, insurance, and facility management.
Identify opportunities to strengthen long-term financial sustainability.
Fund Development & External Relations
Lead and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major gifts, annual giving, grants, corporate sponsorships, and special events.
Cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, churches, community organizations, and key stakeholders.
Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for Mary's Place.
Strengthen community awareness through effective marketing, communications, and public relations efforts.
Collaborate with the Board to advance endowment development and legacy giving initiatives.
Community Partnerships & Advocacy
Build strategic partnerships that expand resources and opportunities for residents.
Represent Mary's Place in community forums, coalitions, and professional networks.
Advocate for women and families experiencing housing instability and related challenges.
Foster collaborative relationships with service providers, faith communities, and referral partners.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration/Health, Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or related field preferred.
Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit management, human services, housing, community development, or a related field.
Demonstrated success in strategic planning, organizational leadership, and team development.
Proven experience in fundraising, grant management, donor cultivation, and resource development.
Experience working effectively with boards of directors and community stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong financial management, budgeting, and organizational planning skills.
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
