Résumés are now being accepted for the position of Safety and Security Analyst in the Office for Safety and Security of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. This is a full-time, exempt position located at the Diocese of Pittsburgh Pastoral Center. This position compiles data, analyzes results of intelligence reports regarding threats and incidents, and communicates findings to the staff of the Office for Safety and Security. This position also administers, coordinates, and evaluates security programs and deployment of security personnel that support the strategy, policies, and standards of the Office for Safety and Security, established for the physical safety and security of personnel including clergy, administrators, students, parishioners, visitors and property including all churches and schools.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: •Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Business Management, or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: •Completion of complete background check and completion of: • PA Child Abuse History • Criminal Record Check • Fingerprint Certification • Act 24 • Act 168 •Able to receive other relevant law enforcement background clearances. •Minimum 3 years working within a law enforcement or public safety agency is preferred. •Experience with coordination and submission of various state and federal grants. •Knowledge of security equipment, CCTV, communication and notification systems, and locking systems. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: •Knowledge of and strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. •Ability to maintain confidentiality. •Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, exercising courtesy administrators, fellow employees, students, and the public. • Maintain a current CPR/AED certification. • Must be proficient in Microsoft Offices Suite. • Knowledge of various grants available to schools regarding safety and security. • Knowledge of Pennsylvania Criminal Code Title 18 and the justice system. • Knowledge of various criminal and intelligence databases such as JNET, DHS CISA, LEEP and other associated systems.
ROUTINE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Maintains communications with the staff regarding threats and incidents within the Diocese of Pittsburgh. •Enters incidents into appropriate databases and maintain departmental records. •Reviews daily intelligence reports and attend security meetings. •Works with vendors by preparing requests for proposals, reviewing submissions, and coordinating responses. •Assists in scheduling departmental personnel. •Establishes departmental files to include issued equipment and training records and forward necessary files to the Department of Human Resources. •Assists in formulating budgets and developing departmental policy. •Analyzes criminal statistics and intelligence to develop strategies and develop recommendations to prevent or disrupt criminal activities targeting diocesan assets. •Acknowledges and accepts the religious nature and mission of the Diocese of Pittsburgh and always conducts themselves in accordance with Catholic moral teachings and the policies and procedures of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. •Recognizes and supports the Diocese of Pittsburgh by speaking and acting consistently with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
