Knowledge: | ▪ English Language — Ability to communicate using the English language, including understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, understanding information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, and speaking so others will understand. ▪ Household Cleaners — Knowledge of types of household cleaners and how to use them safely and effectively. ▪ Laundering — Knowledge of how to sort laundry based on color, fabric, etc., select the right detergent and the right amount of detergent, decode laundry symbols, pre-treat stains, select the proper wash cycle and drying method. ▪ Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing personalservices. This includes meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. |
Summary of Job: | Perform any combination of light cleaning duties to maintain private and common living areas in rectory and parish offices. All must be in a clean and orderly manner as well as provide laundry services for the priests in residence and for the church linens. Cooking and grocery shopping as needed for the priest/s in residence. |
Essential Duties: | Housekeeper: ▪ Clean (dust, dry mop, wet mop, vacuum, etc.) assigned resident and common living areas, including hallways and staircases. ▪ Clean rectory offices as needed. ▪ Vacuum all offices in the Parish Center and dust the clergy wing of the Parish Center. ▪ Clean and sanitize private and office restrooms and stock them with supplies. ▪ Clean spills. ▪ Coordinate volunteers for weekly cleaning of the church. ▪ Dust window blinds. ▪ Gather and dispose of trash and waste in a safe manner. ▪ Maintain levels of cleaning supplies and products. ▪ Notify supervisor when repairs are needed. ▪ Wash interior windows, walls, and glass. ▪ Water plants. ▪ Maintain levels of laundry supplies and products. ▪ Organize and fold all laundry. ▪ Sort and send out items that require dry cleaning. ▪ Wash, dry and, as needed, iron church linens and albs. ▪ Wash, dry and, as needed, iron clothing, towels and bed linens of priests in residence. ▪ Provide meals for priest/s in residence at St. Teresa of Avila and St. Athanasius. ▪ Grocery Shop as needed for necessary supplies for the priests at both campuses. |
Other Duties: | Perform other minor or incidental tasks related to the position described as directed by Supervisor. |
