Position: Assistant Director of Development Type: Part-time (30 hrs per week) - Hourly Salary Rate based on experience and education. School: Saint Joseph High School, Natrona Heights, PA Reports to: President, Saint Joseph High School Opportunity: Saint Joseph High School (SJHS), one of the oldest Catholic high schools in the region, with a long and enduring legacy in the AK Valley and an extensive network of support from alumni and friends, seeks a creative and dynamic development professional to work directly with the President to sustain and build SJHS’s $400,000 annual giving program, and to support the success of a $2M capital campaign. The ADD position is an excellent opportunity within an established comprehensive fundraising program that is poised for growth. SJHS is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The curriculum, strong in STEM education, includes opportunities for students to get a head start in college with 20 College in High School courses. Students regularly compete and are successful in regional, state, and national academic competitions. Extracurricular activities include a robust athletics program, award-winning drama productions, and mock trial and forensics league, Overview: The Assistant Director of Development (ADD) will be an essential member of SJHS’s fundraising team (staff, volunteer leadership, parents, and alumni). Collaborating closely with the President, the ADD will balance program administration with active involvement in annual fundraising appeals and events, and capital campaign planning and management. They will support the development, implementation and innovation of annual fundraising strategies, focus on donor relationships, and help to advance strategic development initiatives. Key Responsibilities Fundraising & Donor Relations • Active engagement in the development and implementation of the annual fundraising plan and calendar • Initiate and manage individual and institutional prospect development including identification, research, and solicitation strategies. • Manage a portion of the portfolio of annual giving prospects. • Coordinate and support the engagement of alumni and other fundraising volunteers to ensure the success and growth of the annual campaign. • Enhance and manage prospect management systems within the CRM. • Complete grant-writing and funding applications assigned. • Develop and manage relationship-building with donors through stewardship activities, programs, and recognition opportunities. Administrative & Strategic Support • Support the President in strategic planning and goal setting. • Prioritize the management of SJHS’s CRM to ensure it is an effective tool for: o reporting and analysis of the fundraising program o accurately reflecting donor relationships with SJHS o supporting the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual and institutional prospects • Staff the President and fundraising volunteers • Manage gift accounting and acknowledgements to ensure accurate and timely data entry and donor recognition. Project Management • Manage timelines and deliverables for multiple fundraising initiatives. • Develop and manage alumni, parents, and other volunteers to effectively assist with fundraising efforts such as class giving, direct mail, and special events. Required Qualifications Education & Experience • Bachelor's degree • 3-5 years of demonstrated success in an annual fundraising program with knowledge and/or experience in individual giving, development administration including data entry and donor relations, prospect research, grant-writing, volunteer management.
