Saint Luke the Evangelist Assistant to the Finance Director Position
Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Assistant to the Finance Director. Our parish has a vibrant and growing Catholic community which serves two campuses—Saints John & Paul in Franklin Park and Good Samaritan in Ambridge. General Role Description The qualified candidate will work under the direction of the Finance Director. The Assistant will support the Finance Director in performing bookkeeping, data entry, and special projects. In addition, the Assistant will work with parish departments and ministries as needed to coordinate their financial needs with the Finance Director. Some experience in accounting, bookkeeping, data entry, and financial management is preferred. Additional training will be provided as required. This is a part-time position, approximately 20–24 hours per week. Knowledge and Skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in Quicken and Microsoft Office Business Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint) preferred
Proficiency in database entry and management
Strong telephone and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Routine Duties and Responsibilities
Count and tabulate contributions and enter them into the accounting program
Enter eCatholic (electronic contributions) into the parish database
Enter bank deposits into Quicken software
Prepare and tabulate parish invoices weekly and prepare checks
Investigate accounts payable and invoice discrepancies
Prepare annual tax statements for parishioner donations
Prepare thank-you letters for parishioners making significant contributions to the parish
Complete other miscellaneous projects as directed by the Finance Director
