The Catholic Deaf Council and Deaf Ministry Team from Mary, Queen of Peace Parish are excited to offer a Faith Formation opportunity for Deaf Catholics. Along with our Chaplain for the Deaf, Fr. Michael Stumpf, Pastor of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, we will welcome Fr. Tom Coughlin, OP MISS to present a retreat in American Sign Language on October 25 and 26, 2025.
Fr. Coughlin was the first ordained Deaf priest in the United States and he is the founding father of the Dominican Missionaries for the Deaf Apostolate. He works tirelessly to create opportunities for the Deaf Community within the Catholic Church.
The theme of the retreat will be “Faith.” Fr. Coughlin will discuss the meaning of faith, starting with the first faith of Abraham and guiding us to ways to live our faith today.
The retreat will consist of an all-day presentation and discussion with Fr. Tom Coughlin on Saturday, October 25 at St. John Fisher Church (St. Joseph the Worker Parish.)
On Sunday, October 26, the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered at St. Mary of the Mount Church (Mary Queen of Peace Parish), followed by Mass with Fr. Tom and a retreat wrap-up.
