Additional information can also be accessed by visiting our website athttps://www.stjoseph-baden.org/ Location: Baden, Pennsylvania Position Title: Executive Director of Mission Expression Reports to: Congregational Leadership Team Position Context: This role works in a three-person leadership team including the Executive Director of Operations and Guide to Vital Community Living. This team leads the Civil Corporation of the Sisters of St. Joseph under the auspices of the four person elected Leadership Team of the Congregation. Position Purpose: The Executive Director of Mission Expression supports the Congregation as it focuses on how our mission and values are expressed and sustained into the future through collaborations among staff, sisters and partners. This role assists the Congregation in developing, fostering, promoting, and communicating initiatives, activities, processes, and structures necessary for expression of mission; and helps ensure our mission, values and legacy are sustained. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Vision
Oversee the strategic planning process for mission expression, aligning with the CSJ Chapter Commitments, Directional Statement, Congregational Ministries, and organizational priorities.
Collaborate and communicate with the Executive Team to make decisions and recommendations on how staff, sisters, and partners can contribute to innovative ways to advance our mission, values, and charism.
Collaborate and communicate with the Leadership Team on the development of strategies and initiatives that support and sustain mission expression.
Provide leadership in identifying and shaping the Congregation’s legacy, ensuring its continued relevance and impact.
Advance the Congregational priorities by providing strategic mission planning, decision-making, and implementation of initiatives. Holistic Mission Integration
Oversee and integrate the activities of Mission Advancement, Ecology, Spirituality, Justice and Peace, Community Outreach, and Archives departments, fostering a unified approach to mission expression.
Empower department managers to holistically express mission by collaborating with one another, doing things differently, and making decisions based on capacity and resources.
Create an understanding of the historical context of the Congregation in efforts to determine how staff, sisters, and partners envision legacy into the future.
Work with Guide for Vital Community Living to inculcate core values, charism and mission integration into the system. Collaborative Partnerships & Engagement
Cultivate and strengthen relationships with lay partners, staff, sisters, and other stakeholders, fostering a shared understanding of our mission and charism.
Establish and expand avenues for effective relationship building, both internally and externally.
Serve as a member of the Campus Neighborhood Partners committee to promote networking and shared activities on the campus.
Assist in identifying the “legacy” of the Congregation and ways to continue it into the future with input from the Leadership Team, Executive Team, key staff and sisters.
Advocacy & Accountability
Advocate for the resources necessary to support and enhance the infrastructure for mission priorities.
Maintain transparent and consistent communications with staff and sisters regarding mission expression activities.
Regularly review and assess the impact of new initiatives, structures, and strategies to help ensure continuous improvement. Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and evaluate seven high level personnel: Executive Assistant and managers of Mission Advancement, Ecology, Spirituality, Justice and Peace, Community Outreach, and Archives
Commencement: The commencement date is negotiable, but ideally by April 13, 2026. Salary & Benefits:

Annual appraisal process
Travel is primarily local, but attendance at local and national conferences will be required, which may include air travel and overnight stays
Standard 90-day probationary period
Prior to appointment the successful applicant will be required to possess the appropriate clearances, Criminal History Check and pass a drug screening.

Required: Bachelor’s degree in business management, organizational leadership, communications, development, mission advancement or related
field. Combination of at least ten years' experience with a minimum of five years in a senior management role or an equivalent combination of education, training and expertise.
Preferred: Previous experience in a non-profit religious organization. Understanding and appreciation of religious life in the Catholic Church.
