About the Role
As Executive Director, you will partner closely with the Board of Directors to lead with integrity and faith, guiding operations, strategy, and growth. You will foster a supportive, values-based culture and ensure the organization’s financial and programmatic sustainability. Key Responsibilities
Mission-Driven Leadership & Governance
Partner with the Board to uphold and advance the mission and Catholic Christian values.
Align daily operations with strategic priorities and vision.
Provide accurate, timely updates and insights to support effective board decision-making.
Promote a governance culture rooted in accountability, service, and impact.
Operations & Team Management
Oversee day-to-day operations with strong systems, policies, and metrics.
Recruit, manage, and retain a committed team aligned with the organization’s values.
Lead program development to meet the needs of residents and reflect the mission.
Maintain vendor relationships and ensure effective management of contracts and facilities.
Financial Management
Develop and manage the annual operating budget in partnership with the Board.
Ensure accurate financial reporting, transparency, and fiscal responsibility.
Lead fundraising strategies, donor engagement, and grant applications.
Optimize resources for long-term sustainability and growth.
Development & Community Engagement
Cultivate donors, partners, and foundations to expand the organization’s reach and funding.
Lead marketing and communications to enhance visibility and brand impact.
Serve as the primary ambassador of Mary’s Place within the community.
Collaborate with the Board on long-term planning, including endowment and legacy giving initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
3–5+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit or related settings.
Demonstrated success in strategic planning, team leadership, and resource development.
Proven ability in fundraising, grant writing, and stakeholder relations.
Skills & Attributes
Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
Exceptional communication—verbal, written, and interpersonal.
Passionate commitment to the mission and Catholic Christian values of Mary’s Place.
Visionary leadership with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
Experience serving or advocating for individuals impacted by poverty or crisis is a plus.
