Assistant/Associate Director of Music Ministry
Saint Mark the Evangelist Parish (formerly Holy Sepulcher and Saint Kilian Parishes) is seeking a full-time Assistant/Associate Director of Music Ministry (ADMM). This position comes with benefits, and the salary will be based on education and experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Share the responsibility of playing at Sunday, Solemnity, Holiday, and Special Masses with the Director of Music Ministry (DMM), typically playing 3-4 of the 7 weekend Masses that include music (there are two quiet Masses during the weekend).
• Alternate playing in each church with the DMM to minister to the entire parish.
• Serve as organist for larger events when multiple elements of the Music Ministry combine, with the DMM conducting the combined forces.
• Direct the parish bell choir (training available) or other parish ensemble(s).
• Collaborate with the DMM in producing weekly worship materials (worship aids, cantor books, etc.).
• Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on the successful candidate’s aptitudes, interests, and the needs of the Parish/Music Ministry.

Qualifications:

• Excellent organ performance and sight-reading skills.
• Appreciation for and knowledge of the hymnody and service music of the Catholic Church from various periods, genres, and styles.
• Working knowledge of the public worship and liturgical calendar/seasons of the Roman Catholic Church.
• Positive, organized, self-disciplined, and values communication and collaboration.
• Ability to lift heavy items (chairs, folding tables, handbell cases, etc.).

Institutional Overview: Saint Mark the Evangelist Parish was created on July 1, 2023, from the former Holy Sepulcher (Glade Mills) and Saint Kilian (Cranberry Township) Parishes. It is led by a dynamic staff of over 30 individuals, including a nine-person clergy team, Lay Ecclesial Ministers, and Pastoral Staff. Most of the buildings at both pastoral centers were built in the 21st Century. The parish also utilizes the former Saint Kilian Church and Parish Hall in Mars Borough (now converted to a food bank and Fellowship Hall). Nestled in the southern part of Butler County, Saint Mark’s currently has 5,762 registered households with a total membership of 18,142. The average age of our parishioners is 38, and our parish population and weekly offerings continue to grow annually. There are nine weekend Masses (7 of which are accompanied, 2 are quiet), with an average weekend attendance of around 4000 worshipers.
